Mold Testing
Testing for moisture-affected areas, visible growth, or indoor conditions where mold is a concern.
Mold questions usually follow a moisture condition: a leak, a spill, humidity in a closed space, or growth that has become visible. Testing addresses the specific area in question rather than the building in general.
Both the moisture condition and the particular area matter to what testing can show. That is why the location, the extent of the concern, and what has already happened at the property are worth describing up front.
Excel performs mold testing. Drying, repairs, and remediation are performed by others.
When this testing may be relevant
- A leak, overflow, or water intrusion has affected an area of the property.
- Visible growth has appeared on a wall, ceiling, or other surface.
- An indoor space has an ongoing moisture or humidity concern.
- Conditions in a moisture-affected area need to be documented.
Questions this testing can address
- What did testing find in the area that was sampled?
- What conditions were documented in the area at the time of testing?
- What documented information exists before repairs are arranged?
